Two months after losing the BLAST.tv Austin Major final to Team Vitality, The MongolZ beat Vitality 2–1 in the semifinal in Riyadh and then swept Aurora Gaming 3–0 in the final. Four matches, four wins, and $500,000 — 40% of the pool and the club’s only title of the season.
The event did not go to form further down either. Team Spirit, which had just won IEM Cologne and BLAST Bounty Fall in the same summer and came in as the second-ranked side of the field by our table, went out at ninth-to-sixteenth. Aurora Gaming, which reached the final by beating FaZe Clan, HEROIC and Team Falcons, collected $230,000 for second place.
