Legacy defended its CS Asia Championships title in Shanghai the hard way. Team Falcons, the favourite of the field by our season table, beat it 2–0 on May 22, and Legacy had to win through The MongolZ, 2–1 the same day, and MIBR, 2–0 in the semifinal, to meet Falcons again. The final on May 24 went 3–1 to Legacy on Nuke, Ancient, Mirage and Dust II.
The $400,000 first prize is Legacy’s largest payout of the season, 26.5% of everything the club earned in it, and the title was the second of its three this season.
MIBR made the longest climb: 14th of the 16 in the field by the table, it finished fourth. The event was also closer than most, with 10 of its 21 best-of-three series going to a third map.
