Facts and records
This was the 2nd final between Team Falcons and FURIA this season. Before the final they were level at 4–4 in their series this season; the final put the club ahead. The field had 8 of the top 10 clubs of our season table by share of maps won, as many as any tournament this season; the club ranks 3rd among them, behind Team Vitality and Team Spirit; they finished 5th–8th and 3rd–4th here. Team Spirit, winner of the previous edition (Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2025), missed out on the title this time but stayed in the top four — 3rd–4th.

Team Falcons won all three of its playoff series in Cologne, but only the last one easily. Its quarterfinal against Team Vitality on June 19 and its semifinal against defending champion Team Spirit a day later both went the full three maps; the best-of-five final against FURIA on June 21 then ended 3–0 on Mirage, Anubis and Inferno.
The $500,000 for first place was the largest single payout of the Falcons season, almost a quarter of everything the club earned in it. A year earlier, at IEM Cologne 2025, the same club had gone out ninth to twelfth.
The playoff was unusually tight by this season’s standards: four of its six best-of-three series needed a third map, a higher share than at 57 of the season’s 60 events. The longest run from outside the favourites belonged to 9z Team, 19th of the field by our season table, which reached the quarterfinals and took a map off FURIA there.
