only rosters that had a majority are counted
how this is counted — and why there were three definitions
“Where is this team from” has three different answers, and they disagree: where the organization is registered, the passport held by most of the roster, and the region the team qualified through. Team Falcons is registered in Saudi Arabia, fields a European roster and qualifies through the Western region — three answers to one question.
The majority passport of the five is what is counted here. A majority means strictly more than half: three of five and up. Exactly half is not a majority, and calling it one would be fitting the definition to the answer we wanted.
That is why five rosters of fifteen are shown as mixed rather than assigned to their most common country. This is not a gap in the data: passports are known for all 60 champions. It is a property of the game itself — a third of the titles were taken by rosters with no national majority.

Facts and records
The leaders got there differently: China through Invictus Gaming (2012), Newbee (2014) and Wings Gaming (2016), a different club each time; Russia through one club, Team Spirit (2021, 2023 and 2026).

The table splits cleanly by time. Every champion from 2011 to 2016 had a national majority, and three of them, in 2013, 2014 and 2016, were fives from a single country. All five rosters without a majority won in 2017 or later, so mixed lineups have taken five of the nine titles since then.
China has not produced a champion since Wings Gaming in 2016, while all three Russian majorities came in the last six editions, each through Team Spirit. Ukraine appears in four winning rosters but holds the majority only in the first, Natus Vincere in 2011; in Spirit’s three titles Ukrainians are in the minority, with Yatoro in all of them.
Some names cross the borders between rosters. skiter and Sneyking won in 2022 with Tundra Esports and in 2025 with Team Falcons, both lineups without a majority, and 33 won in 2022 and 2024 with two different clubs. Yatoro and Collapse are the only players in the table with three titles.
