Team Yandex beat Team Spirit on two days running to win DreamLeague Season 27: first on December 20, then 3–1 in the final on December 21 after Spirit had taken the opening map. Ten months later, at BLAST SLAM VIII, the two clubs played out the same pattern again.

Spirit reached that final through PARIVISION, the leader of our season table, winning 2–0 on the day of the final, including a 62-minute first map. Aurora Gaming had the worst event relative to the table, fourth of the field and out in 17th to 21st, while OG climbed from 15th to fifth to sixth.

The prize money was spread more evenly than at any other Dota 2 event of the season: first place took only 24.4% of the $1,000,000 pool. Radiant won 56.3% of the 206 maps, well above the season’s 50.9%.
