Aurora Gaming won FISSURE Universe Episode 8 without losing a series, but the final was as close as it gets. Aurora had already beaten Team Spirit 2–0 on January 31; a day later Spirit came back through Team Yandex to meet them again and led the best-of-five 2–1 after winning two maps in a row.

Aurora answered with two wins, the deciding map in 32 minutes, and took the title 3–2 along with $125,000, half the pool. It was the club’s only title of the season — the start of a spring in which it went on to lose three big finals.

The event moved fast in places: Team Liquid closed one map against BetBoom Team in 19 minutes, the shortest game of the four days, while BetBoom needed 70 minutes for its decider against _PowerRangers.
