apEX’s career splits into two halves that could hardly be more different. Between February 2011 and July 2015 he went through ten lineups in four and a half years, about five months per lineup on average, and some stops lasted a week or two — seven days at 3DMAX, twelve at Epsilon Esports, eighteen at Anexis eSports — and he passed through Team LDLC twice along the way.
Since the summer of 2015 the pattern has reversed: three clubs in eleven years. Nineteen months at Team Envy, about twenty months at G2 Esports, and from October 8, 2018, Team Vitality, which he captains. His eight years at Vitality outlast the twelve earlier spells put together, which add up to around six years and nine months, and account for about half of his entire professional career.
He joined Vitality at 25, later than most: of the 38 season players with a known birth date, 33 arrived at their current club younger than he did. He did not arrive alone, though — ZywOo signed the same day, and no player on this season’s teams has spent longer at his current club than these two. apEX ranks first among the 40 players of this season’s teams for career prize money, years in the pro scene and number of lineups, a rare case of all three measures of a long career landing on one person.
